Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
From the very first consultation in Weston, our professional team will teach you about the orthodontics practice, have you complete an exam, and determine the correct treatment part for you. For the duration of the meeting, we will:
- Go over your dental and medical history
- Our complete oral exam with X-Rays will help us elect a specific treatment plan for you
- Create a cohesive and custom plan for your treatment
- Review financial information including insurance options and payment plans
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
Upon completion of your consultation, you will be able to schedule your first appointment with your new orthodontist. We will help you with any necessary paperwork and assist in scheduling a second x-ray appointment. From there, a Weston orthodontic assistant will guide you along the process, with help in understanding and placing any orthodontic appliance. The second appointment should last about 2 hours, during which our Weston orthodontic team will aid in your comfort for the duration of your time at the office.
Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments
To ensure your orthodontic pieces are working correctly and efficiently, we recommend that you visit you Weston orthodontic office every four to eight weeks. If you have a particularly busy work or life schedule, we will do our utmost in finding appointment times to best suit you.
While we do understand that life is largely uncertain at times, if you find that you need to reschedule an appointment, call the Weston office. We will work with you and our Weston schedule coordinator will make sure to find a convenient appointment for you.

Weston Orthodontic Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Common orthodontic uses can include crowding, widely spaced teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites for younger patients that are often genetic or a result of injury. They can also be caused by thumb-sucking habits or late or early tooth loss. Although children’s orthodontic issues may be able to self-correct with time, adult orthodontic problems do not get better with time or age and may require orthodontic surgery.
In order to prevent more complicated problems occurring in adulthood, your child can receive orthodontic treatment straight from our Weston office. This may prevent the need for serious orthodontic surgery later on in life, when jaws are hardened in adulthood. If your child is 7 years old and may require orthodontic treatment, don’t wait for the problem to get worse! Contact our convenient Weston office and schedule an initial exam. CT Braces will be glad to help your child’s teeth in order to help them achieve an improved and more confident smile!
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
In order to fulfill the end goal of a healthy smile, you can opt for our Two-Phase treatment plan consisting of three steps.
- During the first phase, your Weston orthodontist will suggest treatments for issues such as jaw growth, tooth crowding, or spacing problems. This is the primary step in order to assure permanent teeth are properly aligned.
- During the resting period, your child’s permanent teeth will grow naturally into place.
- In phase two, our Weston orthodontists will set up a full set of upper and lower braces to align permanent teeth.

Weston Adult Orthodontics
Many orthodontic patients are over 21. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, one in five patients are over 21 years old. At CT Braces of Weston, we can ensure you a smile that you will be proud of.
Adult orthodontic procedures are different from those of children. Adult jaws are harder, leading to higher risks of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, or incomplete orthodontic treatment as a child or teenager.
CT Braces of Weston knows how to treat adult orthodontic procedures in a specific and careful way. Our expert team will be able to help you in adulthood. For more information on how to get started, call our Weston orthodontic practice and we will set up an initial exam.
Weston Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also called orthognathic surgery, will help treat problems associated with:
· jaw bone formation
· bad bites
· malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
If a jaw is not correctly aligned, surgical orthodontics is used as a primary treatment to be followed up by braces to move teeth into specific and correct positions. Your Weston orthodontist at CT Braces will work closely with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will perform any and all surgery at a hospital as required.
Orthodontic surgery will typically take several hours. We do insist that you have a rest period of between two to four weeks. After this, you may need to be fitted for a six to twelve month device such as braces followed by a retainer. Surgical orthodontics (commonly called orthognathic surgery) is a major medical procedure with an immense success rate. Our foremost concern is your comfort, so feel free to contact our Weston practice so we can speak about options and help you feel as comfortable as possible!
Weston, CT Invisalign® Options
Weston CT Braces is a certified provider of Invisalign. Invisalign treatment uses invisible, aligners that are removable to help you achieve a healthy, straight smile without the use of traditional metal braces. With Invisalign trays, you can still comfortably eat, drink, brush your teeth, and floss them for the duration of your treatment. You will just need to have a new set of aligners every 2 weeks that will help move your teeth into the correct position.
The entirety of your treatment will be about nine to fifteen months, dependent on the specific treatment plan. We suggest that you visit you Weston orthodontist at a frequency of every six weeks to ensure that treatment progression is on schedule. If you would like to learn more about the benefits of this specific treatment please contact your Weston CT Braces office via phone!
