Every Smile Starts with a Consultation

For your initial orthodontic consultation, our Ridgefield office will begin by letting you know the basics of orthodontics. We also want to perform an initial exam that will be followed by a personalized treatment plan to help assist you in your current orthodontic needs. During your consultation, we’ll discuss:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation

Once your orthodontic consultation is over, we will try to immediately schedule your first orthodontic appointment, so that we can start to work on your treatment plan. We will also guide you in any paperwork that needs to be addressed and try to schedule your second appointment which will include your x-ray. This appointment will take around 3 hours to complete and it will include one of our Ridgefield assistants helping you place your new orthodontic appliance. Here at CT Braces, we always strive to promote a comfortable atmosphere where you never have to be afraid or worried. If you ever have any questions or concerns, simply let us know.

Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments

After your first and second appointment, we’d like to start seeing you on a regular basis. Specifically, it’s recommended that you come in every four to eight weeks so that we can monitor your progress. At CT Braces, we will always make scheduling your appointments convenient and easy.

We understand that things may happen in your life and you might need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. No problem! We’ll have one of our Ridgefield orthodontic assistants reach out to you to figure out the best time for your next appointment.

Ridgefield Orthodontic Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

Has your child recently been complaining about issues with their teeth, either certain sensitivities or pain? They may be experiencing crowding, spacing, protruding, bad bites or jaw growth problems. These issues may stem from inherited traits, early or late tooth loss or habits like thumb-sucking. On the other hand, we can easily address these issues early if you come into our Ridgefield office. We’ll then be able to craft a treatment plan that will help your child avoid major orthodontic issues in the future.

If you start to notice these issues in your 7 year old, please have them come to our Ridgefield office for an initial consultation. This way, we’ll be able to determine the source of their issues and tackle it head on. We want your child to have a beautiful, straight smile they can enjoy.

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment

To help your child achieve a healthy, beautiful smile, we will offer them our Two-Phase Treatment. This treatment consists of three easy steps.

  • Phase one begins with letting your Ridgefield orthodontist create a personalized plan for your child’s orthodontic needs. This plan may be targeting jaw growth issues or spacing issues or whatever your child is currently facing. This recommended treatment should result in your child achieving a straighter, healthier smile.
  • Once your treatment plan has been put into action, we recommend that your child has a rest period. This will allow for permanent teeth to grow in without the help of a retainer.
  • After the rest period, we will suggest another phase to their treatment plan. This will include your child receiving a full set of upper and lower braces that will help align permanent teeth.

Ridgefield Adult Orthodontics

According to the American Association of Orthodontics, one in five patients are over the age of 21. At our Ridgefield offices, we strive to help all of our adult patients achieve the bright, beautiful smile they’ve been dreaming about.

You may be seeking adult orthodontic assistance because of an injury or an inherited trait you never felt like changing before now. Whatever the reason is, we want to help you! Compared to child orthodontics, adults face more permanent damage that can lead to high risks of gum or bone loss and worn or missing teeth.

CT Braces of Ridgefield knows that adults need orthodontic care too. With this in mind, we’ll be able to help you with any of the issues you’re currently facing. To learn more about all of the options we can offer you, contact our Ridgefield orthodontic office today.

Ridgefield Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)

Surgical orthodontics, which is also commonly called Orthognathic Surgery can help you with:

  • Jaw bone formation
  • Bad bites
  • Malocclusion – misaligned teeth.

In order to correct alignment problems, you will usually need to have orthodontic surgery and braces which will help your teeth move into the correct positions. We will have an oral and maxillofacial surgeon perform the surgery for this procedure to ensure that you receive the best care possible for your situation.

The procedure will usually take a few hours until it’s completed. We’ll also need you to have a period of rest afterwards for about two to four weeks. Surgical orthodontics (orthognathic surgery) is a major medical procedure that’s been used for years. But, we always strive to make our Ridgefield patients feel comfortable, so we always take the extra steps necessary to help you understand what’s happening and what will come next. If you have any questions for us, please reach out to our office.

Ridgefield, CT Invisalign® Options

Our Ridgefield, CT orthodontic office proudly promotes that we are a certified Invisalign® provider. Instead of relying on wires or brackets to straighten your teeth, you can use the innovative design of Invisalign®. Invisalign® is essentially an invisible tray that will help straighten your teeth but it can be removed. You can also eat, drink, brush and floss without any worry! During the alignment process, your teeth will start to move into the desired placement. In order to keep up with this movement, we will need to replace your trays every two weeks.

The entire Invisalign® process will take around nine to fifteen months. To make sure that your treatment is going according to plan we suggest that you come to our Ridgefield office every six weeks for a check up. If you would like to learn more about Invisalign®, please reach out to our Ridgefield office.
