There are various orthodontic problems that can occur in children including; teeth that are spaced too wide, jaw growth problems, teeth that protrude, overbites, and underbites. In children, misaligned bites can be caused by tooth loss that happens to early or late in life and a bad thumb- sucking habit. Some of these orthodontic problems can be corrected with age but sometimes the harden as the child grows up into an adult. When these problems are revealed in adulthood, they will not go away on their own and may require orthodontic intervention in the form of surgery.
It’s best tackle orthodontic issues at a young age, bringing your child into our Peach Lake office will ensure they don’t have to deal with orthodontic issues as an adult. It’s not a good idea to wait to see if your child's orthodontic issues simply fix themselves, if your child is 7 years or older. Contact our orthodontic office to schedule your initial exam, CT Braces is happy to help correct any orthodontic issues your child might have, to give them healthy, straight teeth.
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
CT Braces has a Two-Phase treatment to achieve your child’s perfect smile in Peach Lake. To ensure your child’s teeth are aligned properly, an orthodontist will create a plan specific to your child’s needs. This plan of treatment can help with tooth crowding, spacing problems and improper jaw growth.
- During phase on, the Peach Lake orthodontic team will create a customer treatment plan for the child’s teeth. This will address and concerns with teeth crowding, jaw growth, and spacing problems. Your child’s adult teeth will then be aligned correctly when they grow in.
- After this, your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow into place without the use of a retainer, during a resting period.
- In Phase Two, our Orthodontic professionals will provide your child with a full set of upper and lower braces to help align any permanent teeth.

Peach Lake Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
If you require a surgical orthodontic procedure, also called orthognathic surgery, we can help treat:
jaw bone formation
malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
When your jaw is not correctly aligned, surgical orthodontics must be used first, then your orthodontist can provide braces to move your teeth into the proper position. The orthodontist professionals at Peach Lake CT Braces will also work in conjunction with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will perform your surgery at the hospital.
Surgery for orthodontic treatment can take up to several hours. We urge that you have a resting period after this surgery for two to four weeks. After this, you may need to be fitted for an appliance or orthodontic device such as braces. Braces tend to be on a patient for about six to twelve weeks in order to properly move permanent teeth into position. Surgical orthodontics is a major medical procedure that has been performed successfully on patients for years. At CT Braces of Peach Lake, we will help work with you to make this as comfortable of an experience as possible.
Peach Lake, NY Invisalign® Options
Peach Lake is certified provider of Invisalign®. Invisalign treatment uses removable clear plastic aligners to position your teeth as an alternative to traditional metal braces. With Invisalign, you can still eat, drink, brush, and floss like usual throughout the entire duration of your treatment. You will need a new set of aligners around every 2 weeks to move your teeth into position slowly but steadily.
The entire Invisalign® treatment averages around nine to fifteen months, and we recommend you visit your Peach Lake orthodontist every six weeks to make sure your treatment is progressing as it should. Curious about the benefits of this treatment? Contact your Peach Lake CT Braces office for more information.
