Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
For your first orthodontic visit in Orange, you will meet our team who will inform you on orthodontics, have a complete exam, and learn which treatment options work best for your orthodontic issues. During your consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history
- Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
After your initial consultation, we will arrange for your first appointment with an orthodontist, help you complete your paperwork, and schedule a second appointment for x-rays. Afterwards, our Orange orthodontic assistant will help position your new orthodontic appliance. During your second appointment, which will take 2 hours, our Brookfield team will make you feel comfortable and reassure you about our safe, reliable orthodontic procedures.
For your treatment to go smoothly, we insist that you visit your orthodontist every four to eight weeks. Our Orange orthodontic office will help arrange appointments that are convenient for your existing schedule.
We know that life can bring unexpected events, so we will help you if you are running late or need to reschedule your appointment at our Brookfield office. When you’re ready to commit to an appointment, get in touch with us and our scheduling coordinator in Orange will help you.

Orange Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Orthodontic issues like crowding, spacing, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth or bad bites for children that can be inherited, caused by injury, early or late tooth loss or thumb-sucking. Adult orthodontic procedures will take longer and can call for orthodontic surgery, seeing that a child’s jaw will harden at the beginning of adulthood.
If you are looking to help your child achieve a straighter, more vibrant smile and prevent the need for an orthodontist as an adult, you can look into our treatments at our Orange office. If your child is 7 years old and needs orthodontic care or you’ve been recommended to our Orange office, we can assist you with an initial exam. Our aim is to help your child achieve straight, healthy teeth.
Our Two-Phase treatment consists of a three-step process to make sure that your child achieves a healthy, beautiful smile.
- During phase one, our Orange orthodontist can help treat jaw growth, tooth crowding or spacing issues to ensure proper alignment for your child’s permanent teeth.
- After the first phase, you’ll need a resting period where your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow without the disturbance of a retainer.
- During Phase Two, your Orthodontist will place full upper and lower braces to help correct any additional alignment issues.
If you think your child will benefit from our treatment or you’ve been referred to our orthodontic practice, please contact our Orange office today.
Orange Adult Orthodontics
One out of five orthodontic patients will be over the age of 21, according to research from the American Association of Orthodontists. At CT Braces of Orange, we want to help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.
Adult orthodontics isn’t the same as children’s because as we grow into adults, our jaws will harden. This gives way to a higher risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, which could also be the result of not attending orthodontic treatments as a child or teen.
CT Braces of Orange knows that adults will have different orthodontic needs, and we’re ready to properly assist you. To schedule an appointment, please contact our Orange office to learn more about our treatment plans.
Orange, CT Invisalign® Options
CT Braces is a trusted, certified Invisalign® provider for the Orange area. Invisalign® is a clear, removable, and comfortable tray that takes the place of braces and can help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. You can even eat, drink, brush, floss, and do most of your regular practices during your treatment. This treatment also involves having a new set of aligners put into place every two weeks which helps because your teeth will move gradually with each new set.
The total dedicated time for your new aligners will be on average nine to fifteen months. During this period, you should visit your Orange orthodontist every six weeks to make sure you’re on the right track. If you have questions or would like to set up an appointment to discuss Invisalign®, contact our Orange, CT Braces office for more information.
Orthodontic Retention in Orange, CT
You've worked hard for your beautiful smile; keep it that way!
Here at CTBraces in Orange, we understand how exciting it is to have your braces removed and see that new beautiful smile and those perfectly straight teeth. However, we want to remind our patients that there is still one step left to your orthodontic experience to fulfill, and that is having to wear a retainer for a period of time to keep your new teeth straight and that smile glowing.
Types of Retainers
The staff here at CTBraces in Orange is skilled and trained to design customized retainers that can be either fixed or removable. With clear retainers being the most appealing, they also fit over the whole arch of teeth. Clear retainers can also be customized as clip-ons that fit only from canine to canine.
The permanent retainers that are customized here at CTBraces in Orange are equipped with wires that are bonded to either upper or lower teeth and are more times than not required when wisdom teeth are removed. They typically stay in place for life.
Pros and Cons
The team here at CTBraces in Orange wants all of our patients to be aware of the upside and downside of retainers. Removable retainers are ideal because they can be removed when eating or performing oral hygiene routines. The downside, however, is that they can be lost easily and quickly. Fixed retainers tend to be the perfect choice for those individuals who don’t want to have to worry about losing their retainer or having to track the number of hours each day it needs to be worn. The downside to fixed retainers is that in order to floss and get between your teeth and retainer you will need to use floss threaders with the dental floss and this can prove to be a bit challenging.
For more information about orthodontic retention and what is best for you, be sure to reach out to one of our CTBraces staff members today.
