Orange Orthodontic Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Children and teens are susceptible to many types of orthodontic problems. These are often a result of injuries or genetics in children but can be caused by late tooth loss or thumb-sucking habits, and these issues include crowding, widely spaced teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites. Children’s Orthodontic issues may correct on their own. However, they do not work in many cases. The jaw hardens by adulthood, so it is advised to fix children’s orthodontic issues early while it’s still soft. Adult orthodontic problems won’t get better with age, and many can require orthodontic surgery.
Bring them into our Orange office now and get ahead of the situation. By resolving the orthodontic problem for them now your child can avoid complicated, costly orthodontic issues upon reaching adulthood. If your child is seven years or older, don't wait to bring them in. The problem will not go away on its own. Talk to our Orange orthodontic office and schedule your child’s initial exam. CT Braces wants to correct any orthodontic issues your child might have. We want to give your child a smile they can feel excited about.
We want your child to have a healthy smile, and we can give it to them using our Two-stage, three step program to make it possible.
- Phase one is when you meet with your Orange orthodontist so they can recommend a treatment for any jaw growth, tooth crowding, or spacing issues. This is phase focuses on alignment so that your child’s teeth grow in properly.
- After this, your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow into place without using a retainer during a resting period.
- In Phase Two, our Orthodontic professionals will fit your child with a full set of upper and lower braces that will help align any permanent teeth.

Orange Adult Orthodontics
Don’t think that only children require orthodontic attention; this is far from true. One in five orthodontic patients is over 21, according to a finding by the American Association of Orthodontists. CT Braces of Orange cares about you and believes everyone deserves a healthy smile that enables them to be confident.
The adult's jaw is not the same as that of a child or teen. The jaw hardens over time, leading to a higher risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, or incomplete orthodontic treatment.
At CT Braces in Orange, we are experts at treating adult and child orthodontic needs. Call our Orange orthodontic practice to request information and to set up an initial exam, and take your first step towards a better smile.
Orange, CT Clear Braces Invisalign® Options
At CT Braces in Orange, we promote Invisalign®, or clear braces, as a comfortable treatment option and a popular alternative to traditional orthodontic treatments and options. Invisalign® consists of customized clear plastic aligners designed to fit our patients' needs rather than the traditional metal wires and brackets that have been used in years past. The clear plastic aligners help create a straight, healthy smile over time and allow for typical eating, drinking, and brushing habits throughout your treatment period.
Invisalign® aligners move your teeth over a two-week period and must be replaced at the end of that time. The treatment lasts between 9 and 15 months with routinely scheduled appointments. Many of our patients in Orange favor this treatment option for achieving the perfect, healthy smile.
Orthodontic Retention in Orange, CT
You've worked hard for your beautiful smile; keep it that way!
Here at CTBraces in Orange, we understand how exciting it is to have your braces removed and see that new beautiful smile and those perfectly straight teeth. However, we want to remind our patients that there is still one step left to your orthodontic experience to fulfill, and that is having to wear a retainer for a period of time to keep your new teeth straight and that smile glowing.
Types of Retainers
The staff here at CTBraces in Orange is skilled and trained to design customized retainers that can be either fixed or removable. With clear retainers being the most appealing, they also fit over the whole arch of teeth. Clear retainers can also be customized as clip-ons that fit only from canine to canine.
The permanent retainers that are customized here at CTBraces in Orange are equipped with wires that are bonded to either upper or lower teeth and are more times than not required when wisdom teeth are removed. They typically stay in place for life.
Pros and Cons
The team here at CTBraces in Orange wants all of our patients to be aware of the upside and downside of retainers. Removable retainers are ideal because they can be removed when eating or performing oral hygiene routines. The downside, however, is that they can be lost easily and quickly. Fixed retainers tend to be the perfect choice for those individuals who don’t want to have to worry about losing their retainer or having to track the number of hours each day it needs to be worn. The downside to fixed retainers is that in order to floss and get between your teeth and retainer you will need to use floss threaders with the dental floss and this can prove to be a bit challenging.
