North Salem Orthodontic Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

Orthodontic issues like crowding, spacing, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth or bad bites for children that can be genetic, caused by an injury, early or late tooth loss or thumb-sucking. Adult orthodontic procedures will take longer and can call for orthodontic surgery, seeing that a child’s jaw will harden at the beginning of adulthood.

To prevent problems from occurring in adulthood, children can find Orthodontic treatment at our North Salem office. For children that are 7 years old and may need orthodontic care, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. These small “issues” may present to be larger issues later on in life. To schedule an initial exam, contact our office and CT Braces will be happy to help your child start on the path to healthier, straighter teeth.

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment

CT Braces has a Two-Phase treatment to achieve your child’s perfect smile in North Salem. To ensure your child’s teeth are aligned properly, an orthodontist will create a customized plan specific to your child’s needs. This plan of treatment can help with tooth crowding, spacing problems and improper jaw growth.

  • During phase one, the North Salem orthodontic team will create a customer treatment plan for the child’s teeth. This will address and concerns with teeth crowding, jaw growth, and spacing problems. Your child’s adult teeth will then be aligned correctly when they grow in.
  • After this, your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow into place without the use of a retainer, during a resting period.
  • Once the rest period has ended, your child will go into the second phase. In this phase, they will be given a full set of upper and lower braces to help adjust their permanent teeth.

North Salem Adult Orthodontics

According to the American Association of Orthodontists, one in five orthodontic patients are older than 21. Here at CT Braces of North Salem, we want to make you proud of your new smile. Children’s Orthodontics and Adult Orthodontics are not the same. As we grow older, our jaws will harden and can lead to more problems with gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth or simply incomplete orthodontic treatments.

If you are looking to help your child achieve a straighter, more vibrant smile and prevent the need for an orthodontist as an adult, you can look into our treatments at our North Salem office. If your child is 7 years old and needs orthodontic care or you’ve been recommended to our North Salem office, we can assist you with an initial exam. Our mission is to help your child achieve straight, healthy teeth.

North Salem Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)

Surgical orthodontics, sometimes called orthognathic surgery, can help you treat dental issues such as:
                         jaw bone formation
                         bad bites
                         malocclusion – misaligned teeth.

If your jaw is not properly aligned, the first step is to have surgical orthodontics followed by orthodontic braces to help firmly position your teeth into place. Your North Salem orthodontist at CT Braces will work alongside an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will operate at the hospital during your surgery.

On average, the orthodontic procedure will take a few hours to complete and should be followed by at least two to four weeks of rest. After your procedure, you will need to be fitted for braces that will be worn for a duration of six to twelve months, following a retainer to enforce the placement of your teeth. This type of medical procedure called surgical orthodontics (or known as orthognathic surgery) has been performed for years with great success. If you would like to discuss your options today, get in touch with our North Salem office.

North Salem, NY Invisalign® Options

North Salem is a certified provider of Invisalign®. Invisalign treatment uses removable clear plastic aligners to position your teeth as an alternative to traditional metal braces. With Invisalign, you can still eat, drink, brush, and floss like usual throughout the entire duration of your treatment. You will need a new set of aligners around every 2 weeks to move your teeth into position slowly but steadily.

The entire Invisalign® treatment averages around nine to fifteen months, and we recommend you visit your North Salem orthodontist every six weeks to make sure your treatment is progressing as it should. Want to learn more? Contact us at CT Braces for more information in our Danbury office.
