Every Smile Starts with a Consultation

During your initial visit to our North Branford office you’ll meet our entire staff and get comfortable with your course of treatment. We are here to answer any questions and inform you about the details of orthodontics. You will leave your consultation confident with the right information and treatment following a thorough exam. During this first visit you can expect:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation

Following your consultation, our North Branford staff members can assist you in scheduling your first appointment to see your orthodontist, help fill out any required paperwork, schedule a second appointment for your x-rays, and assist in informing you about and place any orthodontic devices. For most patients their second appointment lasts about 2 hours, during this time we want to keep you as comfortable as possible, and our North Branford Orthodontic team will do everything they can to do so.

Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments

We want you to have a comfortable experience with us, and in order for us to keep that promise we urge our patients to visit our North Branford office every four to eight weeks, which will allow us to maintain a properly working orthodontic piece. We understand your life can get a little hectic and busy, which is why we offer flexible hours and times to ensure you are seen by your orthodontist at the right time.

If you find yourself unable to keep your appointment don’t hesitate to give us a call and reschedule. We understand that life can be unpredictable and our North Branford team is here to accommodate you and get you the right treatment at a convenient time.

North Branford Orthodontic Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

Some common Orthodontic issues that can arise are overcrowding, spacing between teeth, complications of jaw growth, teeth sticking out, and bad bites in kids. Typically these are either genetic or due to injury. These can also be a result of thumb-sucking, and losing teeth early or late. Most orthodontic complications that kids form can correct themselves before their jaws harden later in life. In adults these issues usually don’t correct themselves with time, which may lead to orthodontic surgery.

Adulthood issues can be prevented if your child is seen in time, here at our North Branford office we will help to fix any current problems and set up a plan to correct any future ones as well. When kids reach 7 years of age we advise you to set up an appointment as opposed to trying to “wait out” any issues. We encourage you to contact our North Branford orthodontic office and schedule an appointment. Our main goal at CT Braces is to provide top orthodontic service so your child’s smile can continue to beam!

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment

TOur North Branford orthodontists recommend a Two-Phase treatment, which is made up of three steps to get your child smiling bright and confidently.

  1. Beginning with Phase One, your North Branford team at CT Braces will provide a treatment plan for your child, they will go over any jaw growth, tooth crowding, or issues with spacing. By taking this first step it will allow your child's permanent teeth to align correctly.
  2. Next, a resting period will allow your child’s permanent teeth to move into position with the help of a retainer.
  3. During Phase Two your child will be provided with a set of upper and lower braces to aid in their alignment.

Our orthodontists here at our North Branford office are here to assist you in any way necessary. We welcome any and all questions and referrals and are here to start your child’s orthodontics treatment with ease.

North Branford Adult Orthodontics

Nearly 20% of orthodontic patients are 21 years or older, according to the American Association of Orthodontists. Our top professionals at our North Branford CT Braces office can get your smile shining bright no matter your age!

As an adult in need of orthodontic treatment we look out for other complications that don’t normally arise with children. Gum and bone loss, and insufficient orthodontic procedures as a child or young adult can lead to these issues later in life.

Our orthodontists at CT Braces in North Branford understand the different issues that arise during adult and childhood treatment, and regardless of your age or complication we are here to help get you smiling again. Call us today at our North Branford office for more information and to set up a full exam.

North Branford Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)

Surgical orthodontics, also known as orthognathic surgery, is used to treat severe issues in:

  • jaw bone formation
  • bad bites
  • malocclusion – misaligned teeth.

For patients with jaws that are improperly aligned, whether from birth or an injury, we use surgical orthodontics first, following up with braces to help get your teeth back into their correct positions. Our North Branford CT Braces office teams up one of our orthodontists with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. The two will complete your surgery in a hospital.

This particular surgery will likely last several hours and should be followed by two to four weeks of resting time. Some patients need to be fitted for braces after their surgery which are worn for six to twelve months, later receiving a retainer to ensure their teeth stay in the correct positions. Orthognathic surgery is a major medical procedure of which has been practiced for years. We want you to enter your surgery with confidence in your surgeons and course of treatment. If you have any questions please contact on of our qualified staff members in our North Branford office for help.
