Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
All of our New Milford patients always have a great experience when they visit our CT Braces office. You can meet our experienced and friendly team, learn about what we do in orthodontics, have a complete exam, and find out about the treatment plan customized for you. During this meeting we will:
- Go over your dental and medical history
- Complete an oral exam, including X-Rays, to help us decide if treatment is necessary
- Create a customized treatment plan with your input
- Talk with you about your financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
When your initial consultation is completed, if you choose to, you can schedule an appointment with the orthodontist, and we can help you complete your paperwork and schedule an additional appointment for X-Rays. Once you receive your orthodontic device, one of our expert New Milford assistants will explain everything to you and teach you how to use it. You’ll be in our office for your second appointment for approximately 2 hours. Our team nearest to New Milford will do all they can to make you feel comfortable and at ease.
Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments
Once your orthodontic piece is in place, we suggest visiting the office every four to eight weeks to make sure everything is working smoothly. We understand life can create a limited schedule, so we will do our best to accommodate your schedule and give you an appointment convenient for you.
We know that sometimes life is not perfect and you may not be able to attend an appointment. If so, just call our office to let us know what times work best for you. We ask that when our New Milford patients have time in their schedule, they call us to schedule their next appointment.
Here at CT Braces, we can help with a variety of orthodontic issues such as:

New Milford Orthodontic Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Common Orthodontic issues in New Milford that we come across include crowing, widely spaced teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites for children. These can be passed genetically or can be a result of injury. Other causes can be thumb-sucking habits or late tooth loss. Adults with orthodontic problems won’t see improvement with age but rather may need surgery. However, children’s orthodontic problems may correct themselves, but their jaws harden in adulthood.
Bring your child to be seen at our office to help prevent any problems in adulthood. This may help prevent your child’s need for surgery later in life. While some parents of children 7 years of age may see if their child’s orthodontic problems will correct themselves, it may be too late when the problem does not fix itself. If your child has an orthodontic problem, call our office near New Milford to schedule an initial visit. Here at CT Braces, we are happy to straighten your child’s teeth to give them a more confident smile.
In order to give your child a beautiful, healthy smile try our Two-Phase treatment that consists of three steps.
- During Phase 1, your New Milford Orthodontist will give recommendations for jaw growth treatment, along with recommendations for tooth crowding and spacing issues. These treatment options will help your child’s permanent teeth become aligned properly when they come in.
- Next, while your child rests, we let your child’s permanent teeth come in naturally without using a retainer.
- In Phase 2, our expert orthodontists provide your child with full upper and lower braces that will help to align permanent teeth.

New Milford Adult Orthodontics
The majority of orthodontic patients are 21 and older. More specifically, according to the American Association of Orthodontists, this includes one in five patients. Here at CT Braces, we always want our New Milford patients to be proud of their smile.
We treat adult orthodontics different from children because adult jaws are harder. This increases the risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, or incomplete orthodontic treatment received as a child or teenager.
CT Braces of understands that adults with orthodontic problems must be treated differently than children and we make sure to understand your unique needs. Call our office now for your initial appointment so we can get started.
New Milford Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also referred to as orthognathic surgery, will help treat issues in:
jaw bone formation
malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
If a jaw is not correctly aligned, we use surgical orthodontics first, when we use orthodontic braces to help teeth to move into their correct positions. Your expert New Milford orthodontist at CT Braces will work with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, who will be the one to perform your surgery in the hospital.
We always let our New Milford patients know that their orthodontic surgery will take several hours and we recommend a rest period of 2 to 4 weeks. After the surgery is complete, you may potentially need to be fitted for braces to be worn for 6 to 12 months followed by a retainer to make sure all teeth are in the right place. Surgical orthodontics (otherwise known as orthognathic surgery) is considered a major medical procedure and has been performed regularly for many years. We want to ensure maximum comfort for all patients, so when you need orthodontic care call our office.
