Every Smile Starts with a Consultation

For your first orthodontic visit in New Fairfield, you will meet our team who will inform you on orthodontics, have a complete exam, and learn which treatment options work best for your orthodontic issues. During your consultation, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation

After your initial consultation, we will arrange for your first appointment with an orthodontist, help you complete your paperwork, and schedule a second appointment for x-rays. Afterwards, our New Fairfield orthodontic assistant will help position your new orthodontic appliance. During your second appointment, which will take 2 hours, our Brookfield team will make you feel comfortable and reassure you about our safe, reliable orthodontic procedures.

Scheduling Appointments

For your treatment to go smoothly, we insist that you visit your orthodontist every four to eight weeks. Our New Fairfield orthodontic office will help arrange appointments that are convenient for your existing schedule.

New Fairfield Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

Orthodontic issues like crowding, spacing, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth or bad bites for children that can be inherited, caused by injury, early or late tooth loss or thumb-sucking. Adult orthodontic procedures will take longer and can call for orthodontic surgery, seeing that a child’s jaw will harden at the beginning of adulthood.

If you are looking to help your child achieve a straighter, more vibrant smile and prevent the need for an orthodontist as an adult, you can look into our treatments at our New Fairfield office. If your child is 7 years old and needs orthodontic care or you’ve been recommended to our New Fairfield office, we can assist you with an initial exam. Our aim is to help your child achieve straight, healthy teeth.

Two-Phase Treatment

Our Two-Phase treatment consists of a three-step process to make sure that your child achieves a healthy, beautiful smile.

  • During phase one, our New Fairfield orthodontist can help treat jaw growth, tooth crowding or spacing issues to ensure proper alignment for your child’s permanent teeth.
  • After the first phase, you’ll need a resting period where your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow without the disturbance of a retainer.
  • During Phase Two, your Orthodontist will place full upper and lower braces to help correct any additional alignment issues.

If you think your child will benefit from our treatment or you’ve been referred to our orthodontic practice, please contact our New Fairfield office today.

New Fairfield Adult Orthodontics

One out of five orthodontic patients will be over the age of 21, according to research from the American Association of Orthodontists. At CT Braces of New Fairfield, we want to help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.

Adult orthodontics isn’t the same as children’s because as we grow into adults, our jaws will harden. This gives way to a higher risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, which could also be the result of not attending orthodontic treatments as a child or teen.

CT Braces of New Fairfield knows that adults will have different orthodontic needs, and we’re ready to properly assist you. To schedule an appointment, please contact our New Fairfield office to learn more about our treatment plans.

New Fairfield Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)

Surgical orthodontics, also called orthognathic surgery, can be used to address issues in:
·         jaw bone formation
·         bad bites
·         malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
If your jaw is not properly aligned, the first step is to have surgical orthodontics followed by orthodontic braces to help firmly position your teeth. Your New Fairfield orthodontist at CT Braces will work alongside an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will operate at the hospital during your surgery.

The procedure will last for several hours and afterward, we recommend you take a rest period for two to four weeks. When your surgery is complete, you will have to wear braces for six to twelve months as well as a retainer. Surgical orthodontics (orthognathic surgery) is considered a major medical procedure that has been used for years. We aim to always provide our patients with a comfortable atmosphere, so please contact us at our New Fairfield orthodontic office to discuss your options further.

New Fairfield, CT Invisalign® Options

CT Braces is a trusted, certified Invisalign® provider for the New Fairfield area. Invisalign® is a clear, removable and comfortable tray that takes the place of braces and can help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. You can even eat, drink, brush, floss and do most of your regular practices during your treatment. This treatment also involves having a new set of aligners put into place every two weeks which helps because your teeth will move gradually with each new set.

The total dedicated time for your new aligners will be on average nine to fifteen months. During this period, you should visit your New Fairfield orthodontist every six weeks to make sure you’re on the right track.
