Every Smile Starts with a Consultation

During your first orthodontic consultation with CT Braces of Fairfield, you can expect to meet our team to discuss orthodontics, have an initial exam, and discover what treatment options are the best for you. At your consultation, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation

Once your consultation is complete, we’ll help you schedule your first appointment with an orthodontist to complete all paperwork and set up a second appointment for x-rays. One of our Fairfield orthodontic assistants will then place your orthodontic appliance, and this appointment will generally take 2 hours. Our Fairfield team will make sure you are comfortable and understand the process.

Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments

To keep up to date with your treatment plan, we insist you visit your orthodontist every four to six weeks. Our Fairfield orthodontic office will help you schedule all of your appointments and make them convenient for your existing schedule.

Now, we understand how hectic life can be, and if you cannot attend one of your appointments or you’re running late, we’ll help you out. Contact us when you are ready to schedule, contact us, and our scheduling coordinator at our Fairfield office will assist you.

Fairfield Orthodontic Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

Many of us will experience orthodontic issues such as crowding, spacing, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites. For children, these problems can be inherited, caused by injury, early or late tooth loss, or simply by thumb-sucking. Adult orthodontic procedures will often take longer and may need orthodontic surgery compared to a child’s. Children will have softer jaws until they reach adulthood, making them less likely candidates for major surgery.

If you seek treatment for your child in Fairfield, our offices are open and ready to help your child prevent the need for orthodontic attention later in life. If your child is seven years old and needs orthodontic care, or your family dentist has recommended us, our Fairfield orthodontic office can help set up an initial exam. We want to help your child achieve a straighter, beautiful smile.

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment

To help your child develop a healthy, beautiful smile, they will undergo our Two-Phase treatment that includes a three-step process.

  • In Phase One, our Fairfield orthodontist will treat you for any jaw growth, tooth crowding, or spacing issues your child faces. This will help encourage proper alignment for your permanent teeth.
  • After phase one, there is a need for a resting period. During this time, your child’s permanent teeth will be able to grow without the use of a retainer.
  • In Phase Two, your orthodontic professional will size you for upper and lower braces that will help with any remaining alignment issues.

If you think that your child will benefit from our treatments or you’ve been recommended to our practice, please reach out to our Fairfield office today.

Fairfield Adult Orthodontics

One out of five orthodontic patients is over 21, as reported by the American Association of Orthodontists. Here at CT Braces of Fairfield, we’ll be able to help you form a beautiful, healthy smile you’ve always dreamed about.

CT Braces of Fairfield knows that adults have different needs, and we’ll be able to assist you with our expertise. To learn more about our treatment options, please contact our Fairfield office.

Fairfield, CT Invisalign® Options

Fairfield CT Braces is a certified, trusted provider of Invisalign®. Invisalign® will help you achieve a healthy, straight smile without the use of braces. The process includes using a removable tray that is nearly invisible and comfortable to help you align your teeth. You can also freely eat, drink, brush and floss during your treatment, and you will need to change your aligners every two weeks to help with the movement of your teeth.

In total, your treatment will take around nine to fifteen months, and every six weeks, we recommend that you visit your Fairfield orthodontist for updates. If you have questions or would like to learn more about Invisalign®, please contact our Fairfield office for a consultation.

Orthodontic Retention in Fairfield, CT

A beautiful smile takes work to maintain! When you come to our Fairfield office, you may be elated when we finally remove your braces. In fact, it brightens our day to see years of hard work turn into a gorgeous smile! However, we recommend you take one more step to keep your smile as perfect as it can be: orthodontic retention. A retainer helps keep your teeth in place and prevents them from shifting after your braces are removed.

Types of Retainers

CT Braces of Fairfield can give you a removable or fixed retainer. A fixed retainer is bonded with wires to your teeth, while a clear, removable retainer is not. A removable retainer is made through an impression of your teeth, which then fits around the arch of your mouth.

Removable retainers are typically taken out when eating or brushing and generally require at-home cleaning, so you don’t leave residue on the retainer. Fixed retainers never get lost, which can save replacement costs but require special floss threaders while flossing to clean your teeth. Reach out to CT Braces of Fairfield today if you need a retainer.
