Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
For your initial consultation in East Haven, you’ll get together with our team, learn about orthodontics, complete an initial exam, and find out which treatment options work best for you. During your consultation, we will offer to:
- Review your dental and medical history
- Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
One Step Closer to Your Dream Smile
After your consultation, we will schedule your first appointment to complete your paperwork, as well as a second appointment to take photos and x-rays, then one of our orthodontic assistants will place your new orthodontic appliance. This second appointment generally takes 2 hours, and our East Haven team will be available to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
Once you complete your consultation, we’ll schedule your first appointment with the orthodontist, help you complete your paperwork, and schedule a second appointment for x-rays. Later, one of our East Haven orthodontic assistants will help you situate your orthodontic appliance. During your second appointment that will take around 2 hours, our East Haven team will create a comfortable atmosphere that you can relax in.

East Haven Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
There are a number of different orthodontic problems that you may face. A few could be crowding, spacing, jaw growth problems, or protruding teeth. Bad bites can occur in children due to an inherited feature or injury, early or late tooth loss or thumb-sucking. Usually, adult orthodontic procedures are lengthy and can require orthodontic surgery. A child is less likely to have surgery due to the fact that their jaw will only harden by the end of their teenage years.
To prevent orthodontic issues as an adult, it’s best that your child receive orthodontic care, if necessary, at an early age. Treatment at our East Haven office will help straighten your child’s teeth, as we recommend children around the age of 7 to receive an initial exam at our orthodontic office. We want to help your child achieve a straighter, radiant smile that they are happy to show off.
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
To help you with any orthodontic issues, we recommend our Two-Phase treatment plan that consists of three steps. This is to ensure that your child will achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.
- During Phase One, our East Haven orthodontist will assist you with any jaw growth, tooth crowding or spacing issues your child is experiencing. With our expertise, we’ll be able to help properly align your child’s permanent teeth.
- Then, during your resting period, your child’s permanent teeth can naturally grow without the burden of a retainer.
- In Phase Two, our Orthodontic professional will put in place full upper and lower braces to correct any other alignment issues with your child’s permanent teeth.

East Haven Adult Orthodontics
One out of five orthodontic patients will be over the age 21, reported by the American Association of Orthodontists. Here at CT Braces in East Haven, we’ll help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile that you’ve always dreamed of.
Adult orthodontics is different from children’s orthodontics because adults have harder jaws, leading to high risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, especially if you haven’t had orthodontic treatment as a child or teen.
CT Braces in East Haven knows about the differences adults face, and we’re ready to help you. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call our East Haven office.
East Haven Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also recognized as orthognathic surgery, can be used to treat issues with:
jaw bone formation
malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
When a jaw has not been properly aligned, surgical orthodontics is a must, followed by orthodontic braces that will help correct and move your teeth into the desired position. Your East Haven orthodontist at CT Braces will designate an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will perform your surgery.
The procedure will take several hours and for your recovery period, we recommend at least two to four weeks. Afterwards, you will also need to wear braces for six to twelve months as well as a retainer to maintain the alignment of your teeth. Surgical orthodontics (orthognathic surgery) is a major medical procedure that we want you to feel confident and comfortable with. If you ever have any questions or would like to discuss the procedure further, please contact our East Haven orthodontic office.
East Haven, CT Invisalign® Options
East Haven CT Braces is an official, certified Invisalign® provider. Invisalign® is an alternative way to gain a healthy, beautiful smile without the use of braces. The process usually involves invisible, removable and comfortable trays that help to align your teeth. You can even eat, drink, brush and floss with this type of treatment that involves new sets of aligners every two weeks. Changing the aligners help to keep up with the changes your teeth will face.
The total time for your treatment will be an average of nine to fifteen months and you will need to visit your East Haven orthodontist every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is going smoothly. If you are interested in using Invisalign® or need more information, contact our East Haven CT Braces office for an initial consultation.
