Every Smile Starts with a Consultation

During your orthodontic consultation, our Bridgewater team will inform you about the basics of orthodontics as well as provide you with an initial exam and discuss the different options you can choose from. During your initial consultation, we’ll go over:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation

After your consultation, we will find a convenient time to have your first appointment with our Bridgewater orthodontist. We’ll also try to schedule your second appointment as soon as we can. This appointment will include taking photos and x-rays, and it will be around 2 hours until completion. Afterwards, one of our Bridgewater orthodontic assistants will help you place your new orthodontic appliance that you choose to use. We always want you to feel comfortable in our offices, so we will always strive to help you as much as we can!

Scheduling Orthodontic Appointments

To make sure that you are progressing in the right way, we would advise that you come to our Bridgewater office every four to eight weeks. Here at CT Braces, we always make our appointments convenient for all of our patients.

We know that life is unpredictable and something may come up that interferes with your appointment. There’s no need to worry! Reach out to our Bridgewater office and we’ll have our orthodontic assistant schedule you a new appointment.

Bridgewater Orthodontic Treatment Options

Child & Teenage Orthodontics Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening

If your child is currently facing orthodontic issues like crowding, spacing, protruding, jaw growth or bad bites, it could be the result of a few different factors. It could be from inherited traits, injury, thumb-sucking as well as early or late tooth loss. Since a child’s jaw hasn’t hardened yet, the need for surgery won’t always come up. Usually, orthodontic surgery is reserved for adults who will face more serious orthodontic issues.

When we provide orthodontic treatment to your child at our Bridgewater office, we’ll be able to determine the best plan of action for their teeth. We want them to achieve a beautiful, bright smile that they can be proud of. If your child is 7 years old and may need orthodontic treatment, or someone has recommended you to our Bridgewater office, reach out to us for an initial exam.

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment

Our Two-Phase Treatment plan consists of three-steps. We follow these steps to ensure that your child will have a gorgeous, healthy smile.

  • In Phase One, we focus on creating a treatment plan to address any jaw growth, tooth crowding or space issues in your child’s mouth. By doing so, we can improve their alignment with permanent teeth that will soon grow.
  • Afterwards, we suggest that you have a resting period where your child’s permanent teeth will grow in. This resting period will not include a retainer.
  • When it comes to Phase Two, your Bridgewater Orthodontist will place upper and lower braces on your child’s teeth to help promote alignment in permanent teeth.

Bridgewater Adult Orthodontics

In research developed by the American Association of Orthodontists, one in five orthodontic patients will be over the age of 21. This means that there are plenty of adults who are seeking orthodontic help and we can provide the necessary treatment plans for you! Here at CT Braces of Bridgewater, we want to help you achieve the smile of your dreams.

Compared to child orthodontics, adults will face more permanent damage in the areas of orthodontics. Adults will face more risks with gum or bone loss as well as worn or missing teeth, which could also be a result of incomplete orthodontic treatment as a child or teen.

CT Braces of Bridgewater understands the attention that adults deserve and need. We can help you with any orthodontic issues you are currently experiencing. To learn more about what we can provide for you, please reach out to our Bridgewater office.

Bridgewater Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)

  • Jaw bone formation
  • Bad bites
  • Malocclusion – misaligned teeth.

For jaws that aren’t properly aligned and can’t be changed naturally, surgical orthodontics and orthodontic braces are an option. In order to complete the procedure, we will have an oral and maxillofacial surgeon perform your surgery at a hospital.

The procedure will take a few hours and afterwards you will need a rest period of about two to four weeks before any other changes can be made. After your surgery, you will need to have braces for six to twelve months to keep the alignment of your jaw in place. Surgical orthodontics (also known as orthognathic surgery) is a major medical procedure that is backed by years of success. We always want you to be comfortable when you come into our Bridgewater office. So, if you have any questions or would like to discuss the procedure in depth, please reach out to our office!

Bridgewater, CT Invisalign® Options

Bridgewater CT Braces is a reliable and certified provider of Invisalign®. Without the use of braces, we can help you achieve a bright, beautiful smile. Invisalign® is a nearly invisible, removable and comfortable tray that helps align your teeth without any wires! You can remove the trays when you want to eat, drink, brush or floss without interrupting your treatment. This treatment will be in segments of two weeks. Since your teeth are moving little by little, we’ll need your tray to match each new progress.

In total, your entire treatment will take between nine to fifteen months, and we’ll need you to come into our Bridgewater office for regular updates and changes every six weeks. If you would like to learn more about Invisalign® or if you have any questions, please reach out to our Bridgewater office.
