Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
When you attend your orthodontic consultation, our Bridgeport team will inform you about the basics of orthodontics, give you an initial exam, and discuss treatment options that suit you best. During your consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history
- Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
Once your consultation is finished, we’ll help you schedule your first appointment with an orthodontist and your second which will be to take photos and x-rays. Your second appointment will usually take 2 hours and includes one of our Bridgeport orthodontic assistants helping you place the orthodontic appliance of your choice. Our Bridgeport team will always want you to feel comfortable when you visit our office.

Bridgeport Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
If your child is facing issues such as crowding, spacing, protruding, jaw growth problems, or bad bites it could be the result of a few different factors. This could be as simple as inherited features, injury, early or late tooth loss, or thumb-sucking habits. Adult orthodontic procedures will take longer and may need orthodontic surgery compared to children because a child’s jaw will only harden toward the end of their teenage years.
When your child receives orthodontic treatment at our Bridgeport office, we can help them straighten their teeth and prevent further needs for major orthodontist requirements as an adult. If your 7 years old seems to need orthodontic attention, or you’ve been recommended to our Bridgeport office, please reach out to us for an initial exam. This way we can lead you on the right path to straightening their child’s teeth and helping them achieve a beautiful, bright smile.
Our Two-Phase treatment includes a three-step process that is in place to make sure that your child will receive a healthy, beautiful smile.
- In Phase One, our Bridgeport orthodontist will assist you with any jaw growth, tooth crowding or space issues in your child’s mouth. This will help to encourage proper alignment with their permanent teeth.
- Next, you will need a resting period where your child’s permanent teeth can gradually grow in without the disturbance of a retainer.
- During Phase Two, your Orthodontist will place full upper and lower braces that will help with further alignment issues of permanent teeth.
If you are looking into this treatment for your child or have any additional questions, please contact our Bridgeport office today.
One in five orthodontic patients will be over the age of 21, reports by the American Association of Orthodontists concludes. Here at CT Braces of Bridgeport, we will always aim to provide you with a bright, straight smile that you’ve always dreamed of.
Compared to child orthodontics, adults will face more permanent damage or needs such as higher risk for gum or bone loss and worn or missing teeth. These can also be caused by incomplete orthodontic treatment as a teen.
CT Braces of Bridgeport understands the needs of adults, and we want to help you take care of any orthodontic issues you are facing. To learn more about our offerings, please contact our Bridgeport orthodontic practice today.
Bridgeport Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also frequently called orthognathic surgery, is used to treat issues with:
· jaw bone formation
· bad bites
· malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
When a jaw isn’t properly aligned, surgical orthodontics is needed and orthodontic braces to help move your teeth into the correct position. Your Bridgeport orthodontist at CT Braces will have an oral and maxillofacial surgeon perform your surgery at the hospital.
Your procedure will take several hours and we believe you should have a rest period of two to four weeks. After your surgery, you’ll need to wear braces for six to twelve months and a retainer to maintain the placement of your teeth. Surgical orthodontics (orthognathic surgery) will be a major medical procedure that has been performed for many years. To keep you comfortable and confident with your pending decision, contact our Bridgeport orthodontic office to talk about your individual case.
