Brewster Orthodontic Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Common orthodontic issues include crowding, widely spaced teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites for children which are often inherited or from an injury. They can also be caused by thumb-sucking habits or early or late tooth loss. Adult orthodontic problems unfortunately won’t get better with age and may require orthodontic surgery. Children’s orthodontic issues may resolve on their own, however their jaws will harden by adulthood.
Your child can receive orthodontic treatment at our office to prevent any problems in adulthood and preventing the need for any orthodontic surgery later on in life. If your child is 7 years old and needs orthodontic care, don’t wait for the problem to correct itself. , Call our orthodontic office to schedule the initial exam and CT Braces will be more than willing to help straighten your child’s teeth and help give them the confident smile they have always wanted. We have served the Brewster area for many years with our orthodontic treatments for children, and will continue to do so.
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
To start your child on the road to having a beautiful, healthy smile you can use our Two-Phase treatment that consists of three steps.
- In Phase One, your Brewster orthodontist will recommend the best treatment for any jaw growth, tooth crowding or spacing issues. This will help to properly align your child’s permanent teeth.
- Next, during a resting period, your child’s permanent teeth will grow naturally into the proper place without using a retainer.
- During Phase Two, our orthodontic professionals will provide your child with a complete set of upper and lower braces to help align your child’s permanent teeth.

Brewster Adult Orthodontics
Most of our orthodontic patients are over the age of 21 and according to the American Association of Orthodontists, one in five are. At CT Braces, we want to give our Brewster residents a smile they can be proud of and want to show off.
We treat our Brewster adult patients differently from children’s because an adult’s jaw is harder. This can lead to higher risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, or incomplete orthodontic treatment as a child or teen.
Adults have different problems and unique needs compared to children. CT Braces understands the need of our Brewster patients and can find the solution to assist you. To get started, first call our orthodontic practice nearest to Brewster to receive more information and to schedule your initial exam.
Brewster Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also called orthognathic surgery, will help resolve issues in:
jaw bone formation
malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
If your jaw is not aligned properly, you’ll first need to recorrect it with surgical orthodontics then orthodontic braces will help position your teeth. Our Danbury orthodontists at CT Braces will recommend an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for your surgery in the hospital.
Your orthodontic surgery will take several hours to complete after which we insist that you have a rest period of at least two to four weeks. After your surgery, we may need to fit you for braces to be worn for six to twelve months followed by a retainer to make sure the placement of your teeth is correct. Surgical orthodontics (also known as orthognathic surgery) is a major medical procedure that has been performed with success for years. We always want to ensure that you feel comfortable with the orthodontic treatments we can offer in Brewster, so call us to get started.
