Every Smile Starts with a Consultation
You’ll get to know our team when you attend your first orthodontic consultation in Ansonia. You will hear more about the practice of orthodontics, have a completed exam and find out what treatment will be most beneficial for you. What will occur during your initial meeting with us is we will:

- Perform a complete oral exam, with X-Rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Work with you to create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
After Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
You are able to choose to schedule your first appointment with your orthodontist, help you complete your paperwork and schedule a second appointment for x-rays all after your consultation is completed. The process will be made comfortably as we have one of our Ansonia orthodontic assistants there to assist you through the whole process. They will help you understand and place your orthodontic appliance. During your second appointment of around 2 hours, our Ansonia Orthodontic team will make sure that you feel completely safe and comfortable for the entirety of your appointment.

New Haven Orthodontic Treatment Options
Child & Teenage Orthodontics & Teeth Straightening
Orthodontic issues that can be common are: crowding, widely spaced teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, or bad bites for children which are often inherited or a result of injury. Thumb-sucking habits or early or late tooth loss are also causes for bad bites in children. For adults, however, orthodontic problems may persist with age, leading the only solution to these problems possibly being orthodontic surgery. Jaws will harden by adulthood, so it is still possible for children’s orthodontic issues to correct on their own.
At our Ansonia office, your child can receive orthodontic treatment that may help to prevent any problems in adulthood, which will lessen the possibility for any orthodontic surgery later in life. Do not wait for a problem to “figure itself out.” Even if your child is 7 years old and it seems as though they need orthodontic care, contact us. Our Ansonia orthodontic office is here to help, so schedule an initial exam if anything comes up. Our team at CT Braces wants to help straighten your child’s teeth and help them have a better, more confident smile.
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
Our Two-Phase treatment is here, in three steps, to help your child have a beautiful, healthy smile.
- Phase one begins with your Ansonia orthodontist recommending treatment for any growth, tooth crowding or spacing issues. The resulting effect of this will allow for your child’s permanent teeth to be properly aligned.
- After a resting period will occur. During this your child’s permanent teeth will be able to naturally grow into place with no need for a retainer.
- Phase two then happens, this involves our Ansonia orthodontic professionals to give your child a full set of upper and lower braces; this will help with aligning any of their permanent teeth.
Contact our Ansonia office today if you have been referred to us or are interested in learning more information about our orthodontic practices.
Ansonia Adult Orthodontics
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, one in five orthodontic patients are over 21. At CT Braces, we want to help our Ansonia patients to gain confidence in their smile by showing off their stunning and straight teeth.
There is a difference between children’s and adult’s jaws. Adults jaws are: harder, leading to higher risk of gum or bone loss, worn or missing teeth, or incomplete orthodontic treatment as a child or teen.
CT Braces understands the problems between our Ansonia adults and children, and no matter what we will be able to help you. To begin the process, contact our Ansonia orthodontic practice to get more information and set up an initial exam with us.
New Haven Surgical Orthodontics (Orthognathic Surgery)
Surgical orthodontics, also known as orthognathic surgery, is used to treat severe issues in:
- jaw bone formation
- bad bites
- malocclusion – misaligned teeth.
If a jaw is not correctly aligned, then surgical orthodontics are the first option. After this orthodontic braces are used to then move the teeth into their new, correct positions. At CT Braces, our Ansonia orthodontist works alongside an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Your surgery will be done in a hospital, however.
Our Ansonia team recommends that you have a resting period of at least two to four weeks after these several hours of this orthodontic surgery. For six to twelve months after this it is possible for the necessity of wearing braces that you may get fitted for for this amount of time. After this time, a retainer will be needed to be worn to help keep the placement your teeth are adjusting to. This, surgical orthodontics (orthognathic surgery), is a major medical procedure that has been done successfully for years. Contact our Ansonia orthodontic practice so we can discuss your options, as we always want to ensure that you are comfortable with all of our orthodontic treatments.
Ansonia, CT Invisalign® Options
CT Braces is known as a certified provider of Invisalign® for our Ansonia clients. Invisible, removable aligners that help you to reach a healthy, straight smile without the use of braces is what Invisalign® promises. During your treatment involving these comfortable trays, you are still able to eat, drink, brush and floss. Every two weeks, though, a new set of aligners will be needed. The desired position of your teeth will be achieved slowly yet surely, as these will help move your teeth.
We recommend that you visit your Ansonia orthodontist every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is staying on track; the whole treatment will average around nine to fifteen months. Contact our Ansonia office in the case that you would like to discuss the benefits or learn more about Invisalign®.
